GOLD MEDAL WINNING INDIAN ARMY TEAM FELICITATED BY THE CORPS COMMANDER OF TRISHAKTI CORPS ON THE LAC.
Representing the Indian Army, Ghatak Platoon of 4/5 GR (Frontier Force) participated in the Cambrian Patrol, one of the toughest patrolling competition in the world. The competition was held at Beecon, Wales, United Kingdom from 13-15 Oct 2021 and is considered as ‘Olympics of Military Patrolling’.
The team not only won the coveted Gold Medal, but also received rich accolades from all quarters for their exceptional professional conduct and completion of the assigned tasks, during which the team was evaluated for planning, preparation, close quarter battle (CQB) drills, navigation skills, and physical endurance. 96 teams of various armies from across the world participated in the competition this year, of which, only three international patrols were awarded a gold medal.
The jubilant Ghatak Platoon after winning the Gold Medal returned to their battalion, which is deployed in Sikkim Sector on the LAC. The Ghatak Platoon was facilitated by Lt Gen Tarun Kumar Aich, AVSM, General Officer Commanding, 33 Corps on 31 Oct 2021 for their stupendous performance and astounding achievement. The Corps Commander urged all ranks of the Trishakti Corps to emulate the high standards displayed by the platoon and imbibe the specialized patrolling skills in discharge of their duties on the LAC.
The jubilant 4/5 Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force) after winning the Gold Medal at the prestigious Cambrian Patrol : 2021 at Wales, United Kingdom, were felicitated by Lt Gen Tarun Kumar Aich, AVSM, Trishakti Corps Commander in the forward areas. 4/5 Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force) is presently deployed on the LAC at Indo-China border in Sikkim.
