Mount Khangchengyao Tri Services Expedition team was Flagged In at Sukna on 08 Oct 2021.

Lieutenant General AK Singh, YSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Trishakti Corps congratulated the Tri Services team on accomplishment of the mission under very challenging conditions.  

Earlier the Tri Services Mountaineering Expedition to Mount Khangchengyao in North Sikkim was flagged off from Gurudongmar Lake on 20 Sep 2021 and  team summated on 02 Oct 2021.  Expedition team included two women officers in addition to officers and jawans from Army, Air Force and Navy.

Mount Khangchengyao at height of 6889 metre is considered amongst the most challenging peaks due to steep climbs, vertical ice walls, freezing temperatures and rarefied atmosphere. The expedition was planned as part of celebrations to commemorate Golden Jubilee of 1971 War and to honor the valour and sacrifice of the soldiers. 

In his message GOC Trishakti Corps expressed gratitude for contributions of veterans and called upon youth and media to carry forward the message of ‘Strength in Unity’.
