SWARNA JAYANTICOMMAND HOSPITAL (EASTERN COMMAND)

A curtain raiser function for launching the 'Swarna Jayanti' Celebrations of Command Hospital (Eastern Command) was held at Command Hospital on 8th November 2021.  The Command Hospital was inaugurated in the aftermath of 1971 operations,  by then COAS Gen Manekshaw, on 09 November 1972.  The year, from 09 Nov 2021 to 2022, will be marked as 'Swarna Jayanti' year with a series of events, which include - Academic activities, outreach camps,  health promotional activities, clientele interaction and veterans socials.

Lt Gen Manoj Pande, AVSM, VSM,  General Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Command, attended the curtain raiser and flagged off the celebrations.

The Army Commander extolled the dedicated efforts, of the team of Healthcare professionals at Command Hospital,  in reducing the morbidity and mortality among the troops, families and veterans.  He made a special mention of this hospital's  Stellar role during the prevailing COVID pandemic.  He congratulated the Command Hospital team,  led by the Commandant, Maj Gen Ajith Nilakantan,  especially, for being a role model in maintaining  full functionality of all specialist and super specialist services without any interruption during the second wave this year.

 

The Army Commander also lauded the noteworthy contribution by the hospital in the field of clinical research and medical.
