বিএসএফ জওয়ান বাংলাদেশী চোরাকারবারীদের দ্বারা আক্রান্ত, এনকাউন্টারে একজন বাংলাদেশী পাচারকারী নিহত হন জানিয়েছেন বিএসএফ আধিকারিক।

২২শে ডিসেম্বর, ২০২১-এর রাত্রি  আনুমানিক ০১ টা ৪০ মিনিট নাগাদ  পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মালদার সীমান্ত এলাকায় , ৭০ ব্যাটালিয়ন বর্ডার সিকিউরিটি ফোর্সের সীমা চৌকি নওয়াদার জওয়ানরা আন্তর্জাতিক সীমান্তের কাছে একজন বাংলাদেশী পাচারকারীকে গুলি করে হত্যা করে বিএসএফ। 

সীমান্ত চৌকি নওয়াদা এলাকায় মোতায়েন করা জওয়ান রাত্রি আনুমানিক ০১ টা ৪০ মিনিটের দিকে  আন্তর্জাতিক সীমান্ত তারবান্দির কাছে ভারতীয় ভূখণ্ডে ১৫-২০ জন সন্দেহভাজন চোরাকারবারীদের গতিবিধি লক্ষ করে একই সময়ে বাংলাদেশের দিক থেকেও প্রায় ১৫-২০ জন চোরাকারবারী  অস্ত্র ও লাঠি নিয়ে আন্তর্জাতিক সীমান্ত লঙ্ঘন করে সীমান্ত রেখার কাছাকাছি চলে আসে।

চোরাকারবারিদের গতিবিধি দেখে কর্তব্যরত বিএসএফ জওয়ান চোরাকারবারিদের রুখতে কড়া নির্দেশ দেন।  জওয়ানের আওয়াজ শুনে বাংলাদেশি চোরাকারবারীরা পাথর ও হাসুয়া দিয়ে জওয়ানের ওপর হামলা চালায় বলে বিএসএফের পক্ষ থেকে জানান হয়েছে। জওয়ান প্রথমে আত্মরক্ষায় একটি অ-প্রাণঘাতী স্টান গ্রেনেড দিয়ে চোরাকারবারিদের তাড়িয়ে দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করে, কিন্তু তাতে কোনও কাজ হয় নি।  শেষ পর্যন্ত আত্মরক্ষা ও নিরাপত্তার জন্য ব্যক্তিগত অস্ত্র দিয়ে গুলি চালাতে বাধ্য হন জওয়ান যার কারণে সীমান্ত রেখার কাছে একজন বাংলাদেশি চোরাকারবারী আহত হয়।  এদিকে গুলির শব্দ শুনে বাকি চোরাকারবারীরা অন্ধকারের সুযোগ নিয়ে আহত সঙ্গীকে ফেলে পালিয়ে যেতে সক্ষম হয় বলে জানান হয়। কোম্পানি কমান্ডার আহত চোরাকারবারিকে(হামলাকারী) প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসা দেন এবং তাকে অ্যাম্বুলেন্সে উন্নত চিকিৎসার জন্য মালদা মেডিকেল কলেজ ও হাসপাতালে পাঠান।  যেখানে মালদা মেডিক্যাল কলেজ ও হাসপাতালের চিকিৎসকরা আহত পাচারকারীকে

(হামলাকারী) মৃত বলে ঘোষণা করেন।

 প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসার সময় আহত চোরাকারবারী তার নাম ইব্রাহিম (২৪ বছর), পিতা-আবু তাহির, গ্রাম- ধুলিপাড়া, থানা-শিবগঞ্জ, জেলা- চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ, বাংলাদেশের বাসিন্দা বলে শিকার করে।

 তল্লাশি চালিয়ে ঘটনাস্থল থেকে ০১টি মোবাইল ও ০২টি লোহার হাসুয়াসহ ১৯৭ বোতল ফেনসিডিল উদ্ধার করা হয়।

 আহত চোরাকারবারী আরো জানায়, সে বাংলাদেশী পাচারকারী কালু শেখ  ওরফে কালাম শেখ, পিতা- আনারুল শেখ, গ্রাম- বাগিচাপাড়া, থানা- শিবগঞ্জ, জেলা- চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ, বাংলাদেশ-এর নির্দেশে এই ফেনসিডিল সংগ্রহ করতে এসেছিল।  বর্তমানে, বাংলাদেশে ফেনসিডিল না পাওয়ায়, ভারতের বাজারে একটি ফেনসিডিলের দাম প্রায় ৭০০/- টাকা।  যেখানে আন্তর্জাতিক সীমান্ত রেখা অতিক্রম করার পরে, চোরাকারবারীরা প্রতি ১০০ বোতলের জন্য ২০০০/- টাকা পায়।  এমতাবস্থায় ছোট চোরাকারবারিরা বড় চোরাকারবারিদের প্রলোভনে ফেনসিডিল পাচার করে এবং ছোট চোরাকারবারিরা লোভের শিকার হয়ে তাদের জীবন নষ্ট করে।

 বিএসএফ সাউথ বেঙ্গল ফ্রন্টিয়ারের এক বিবৃতিতে বলা হয়েছে, চোরাকারবারীর আবাসস্থল বাংলাদেশের আন্তর্জাতিক সীমান্ত থেকে প্রায় ৬ কিলোমিটার দূরে, তাই প্রশ্ন উঠেছে কেন এই চোরাকারবারি ভারতীয় সীমান্তের ২০০ মিটার ভেতরে এলো? মাঝরাতে.  বিএসএফ তাদের এলাকা থেকে চোরাকারবারীদের ভারতীয় সীমান্তে প্রবেশ বন্ধ করতে এবং তাদের বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের জন্য বিজিবির কাছে এই প্রতিবাদপত্র জমা দিয়েছে।

*BSF JAWAN ATTACKED BY BANGLADESHI SMUGGLERS, ONE BANGLADESHI SMUGGLER KILLED IN ENCOUNTER*

The incident took place on the night of December 22, 2021 at around 0140 hrs in which a Bangladeshi smuggler was gunned down near the International Boundary by jawan of the Border Out Post Nawada, 70 Battalion, BSF in the border area of ​​Malda district of West Bengal.

The jawan posted in the area of ​​the Border Out Post Nawada saw the movement of 15-20 suspected smugglers in Indian territory near the International Boundary at around 0140 hrs. At the same time, about 15-20 smugglers from Bangladesh side also came close to the Border fence violating the sanctity of International Boundary  with arms and sticks.

On seeing the movement of the smugglers, the BSF jawan on duty challenged to stop the smugglers. On hearing the voice of the jawan, Bangladeshi smugglers attacked the jawan with stones and sharp edged iron Dah. The jawan first tried to stop and drive away the smugglers by lobbing non-lethal stun grenade but it had no effect on group of smugglers. In the end, for the sake of self-defense and protection of life and property, he was compelled  to fire with his personal weapon, due to which a Bangladeshi smuggler got injured near the fence. Whereas on hearing the sound of fire, the rest of the smugglers managed to escape, leaving the injured partner, taking advantage of the darkness.

*Despite the attack, BSF performed the religion of humanity*

Meanwhile, the Company Commander and other jawans reached the spot. Keeping humanity paramount, the Company Commander gave first aid to the injured smuggler and evacuated him to Malda Medical College(Hospital) for better treatment through BSF ambulance. Where the doctors of Malda Medical college Hospital declared the injured smuggler as dead.

During the first aid, the injured smuggler revealed his name as Ibrahim (Age 24 years), S/o-Abbu Tahir, village- Dhulipara, PS-Shivganj, District- Chapainwabganj, Bangladesh. During the search of the area, 197 bottles of Phensedyl including 01 mobile and 02 iron rods were recovered from the spot.

The injured smuggler also revealed that he had come to collect this Phensedyl on the behest of Bangladeshi smuggler Kalu Sheikh @ Kalam Sheikh, S/o– Anarul Sheikh, village – Bagichapara, PS – Shivganj, district – Chapainwabganj, Bangladesh. Presently, due to non-availability of Phensedyl in Bangladesh, the cost of a Phensedyl in the Indian market is around Rs.700/-. Whereas after crossing the International Boundary, the smugglers get Rs 2000/- per 100 bottles. In such a situation, small smugglers are lured by big smugglers to smuggle Phensedyl and small smugglers engendered their lives by being a victim of greed.

*BSF handed over Protest Note to BGB*

In a statement issued by the BSF South Bengal Frontier, it was stated that the place of residence of the smuggler is about 6 km from the International Boundary in Bangladesh, so the question also arises as to why this smuggler came 200 meters inside the Indian territory at midnight. The BSF has protested  to the BGB asking them to stop the smugglers from their area from entering the Indian border and take strictest legal action against them.
