INDIAN ARMY RESCUES EIGHT CIVILIANS BURIED IN DEBRIS DUE TO LANDSLIDE.

In a swift and proactive action, Indian Army executes a rescue mission to evacuate 8 civilians buried under debris and landslide at 17 mile, Gangtok. Heavy rains since last two days in the area caused havoc and the camp set up by National Highway authorities at 17 Mile suffered heavy landslide, on receiving the input, Troops of 36 medium regiment came into action and rescued 8 civilians in a rapid move. All of them were treated at the Nearest Military Hospital, however one of them succumbed to his injuries at the Military Hospital.

The soldiers of Trishakti Corps, Black Cat Division being the first responders in the remote areas, have actively engaged in Number of rescue missions of civilians beyond the call of duty.  These missions convey a deep sense of ‘United We Stand’ at the Border villages, where the locals and Soldiers are working in perfect harmony.
