Indian army( TriShakti Corps) assisted Georgian Archery Club, Pedong in organising Archery Competition .

TriShakti Corps assisted Georgian Archery Club, Pedong in organising Archery Competition as part of celebration of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav". 64 competitors from 12 different clubs participated enthusiastically.

The event rekindled and rejuvenated the age old tradition of the Lepcha and Bhutia tribes of Sikkim.

Devendra Dahal, President of the organising committee of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' and the players expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Indian Army for the valuable support and encouragement they received.

The event will contribute towards preserving the rich customs and traditions of the beautiful state of Sikkim as also, inculcate competitive spirit amongst the youth

The event was also attended by the Ex- Servicemen of the area who supported the event  and applauded the attempt made by the Army to support the Traditional sports specific to residents of Pedong.
