On the occasion of 75th Independence Day our Nation, a wreath laying was conducted at Vijay Smarak, Fort William, Kolkata. In a dignified military ceremony, Lt Gen RP Kalita, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, Army Cdr Eastern Command laid wreath at  Vijay Smarak. He  and all ranks present for the ceremony, paid rich tributes to our Bravehearts on the occassion.

As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav  celebration  Indian Army conducted a 'Cycling for Fun' cycle rally. It was flagged off by Lt Gen RP Kalita Army Cdr Eastern Command from Fort William Kolkata.The theme was 'Resolution to uphold and celebrate freedom'. It was attended by 500 participants including Soldiers and their family members. The  rally witnessed enthusiastic participation with tremendous patriotic fervor.
