Police Commemoration Day: Tributes pour in for braveheart cops.
On 21st October, 2022 Police Commemoration Day was observed by CRPF in its Central Zone and West Bengal Sector HQr at 3 Signal BN, CRPF, Sector-V, Salt Lake, Kolkata (W.B). Shri Manoj Kumar Dubey, IGP, West Bengal Sector, CRPF and senior officers and other CRPF personnel paid tribute to the martyrs.
Police Commemoration Day is being observed by Police forces in India to commemorate the sacrifice of 10 brave CRPF personnel on 21st October, 1959, when troops of CRPF retaliated a Chinese aggression at Hot Spring in Ladakh.
In the Chilling winter at a height of 10,500 feet, it was the CRPF which bore the brunt of the first onslaught of the Chinese aggression at Hot Spring in Ladakh on October-21, 1959 when a small CRPF patrol was ambushed and heavily out-numbered by the Chinese Army. In that ensuing battle, 10 CRPF med made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. In order to commemorate the exceptional act of valour by the Jawans of CRPF, 21st October is observed as “Police Commemoration Day” by all police forces across the country.
Shri Manoj Kumar Dubey, IGP, West Bengal Sector, CRPF recollected the great sacrifice of CRPF personnel which is observed by all police force in India as a “Police Commemoration Day”. He also reminded all members to remain as examples for the citizen of India by exercising their duties with full devotion and dedication. He also read out the names of the martyrs from the Police fraternity who have sacrificed their lives in last one year to safeguard the nation. He passionately remembered the Police men who lost their lives while serving for the nation and said that the nation will remember them for their exemplary courage, brave and sacrifice.
