EX-SERVICEMEN RALLY AT MISA MILITARY STATION Assam.
An Ex-Servicemen Rally was organised at Misa Military Station on Sunday. The programme was held to express gratitude and solidarity towards the retired service personnel and ‘Veer Naris' for their contribution to the Armed Forces and to provide assistance to address their grievances.
The event witnessed participation of 348 Veterans, 143 Widows and 11 ‘Veer Naris’
along with next of kin from the districts of Nagaon and Morigaon. The rally was
organised with the aim of reaching out to maximum number of Veterans, Veer Naris and
their next of kins to acknowledge their sacrifices and extend a platform to them to interact with military as well as civil agencies in order to resolve their grievances. During the event, Army established various facilities such as Grievance Redressal Cell", "ExServicemen Registration Cell and Unit Run Canteen besides an 'SBI Cell' where various Government welfare schemes for Veterans were highlighted to the Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris Further Medical Assistance Cell' and 'Check-Up Stations were also organised during the rally where expert counselling on health-related issues was provided by personnel of the Army Medical Corps and Army Dental Corps.
Addressing the gathering, Station Commander, Misa Military Station reiterated the unwavering dedication and commitment of the Indian Army towards its Veterans and expressed his gratitude to the 'Veer Naris' for their sacrifices while highlighting Indian Army's sense of obligation to ameliorate their lives. He further underlined Army's unflinching resolve to provide quality healthcare and grievance redressal for its ExServicemen and their families while exhorting the Veterans to continue contributing towards nation-building.
