Establishment of a Veterans Seva Kendra. Second in Arunachal Pradesh.
In an effort to reach out to the Veterans & Veer Naris of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, Spear Corps of Indian Army has established a Veterans Seva Kendra (VSK) at Sports Stadium, Pasighat. With an aim of reinvigorating the bond with the beloved veterans and in keeping up with the spirit of “Our Veterans Our Pride”, the soldiers of Spear Corps established 'VSK Pasighat', which is only the second VSK in Arunachal Pradesh.
The aim of VSK at Pasighat is to connect with the Ex- Servicemen, Veer Naris, Veer Matas and provide a single point grievance redressal cell at a central and easily accessible location. The VSK will also have facilities such as an outlet for Canteen Stores Department, Aadhaar authentication, SPARSH, library & internet services for all veterans and dependents. The VSK will also provide important info about the post-retirement benefits, government schemes and details of various recruitment schemes in the Indian Army.
The VSK was inaugurated on 30 April 2024 by Major General Akaash Johar, the General Officer Commanding, Spearhead Division, in presence of Mr Tayi Taggu, District Commissioner (East Siang), Shri Tatling Pertin (ADC), Shri T Tashi (DDMO), Mr Avinash Kharel (Dir RRU), Shri Pankaj Lamba (Addl SP) and Gp Capt Panging, VSM (retd), a Veteran officer. Large number of veterans and also graced the occasion.
The General Officer Commanding, Spearhead Division interacted with the Veterans, conveying gratitude for their services & sacrifices for the nation. The VSK stands as a testament to the unwavering support of Indian Army to its Veterans & Veer Naris. It embodies the spirit of camaraderie & solidarity that defines the ethos of Indian Armed Force.
