Memorandum of Understanding signed between Indian Army and IIM Ranchi.
In a landmark event held at Dipatoli Cantonment, Ranchi on 12 Jun 2024, the Indian Army and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic collaboration is one of the first initiative for Executive MBA and Executive PhD in the Eastern Command of the Indian Army and aims to enhance leadership and management skills of Indian Army officers through academic and research cooperation.
The MoU was signed by Major General Paramvir Singh Dagar, Vishishth Seva Medal General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division representing the Indian Army and Prof Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director IIM Ranchi. The ceremony was attended by officers stationed in Ranchi as well as from other Cantonments at Namkum, Jamshedpur and Shahjahanpur through video conferencing highlighting the wide-reaching impact of this partnership.
Key Highlights of the MoU include two-year Executive MBA and four-year Executive PhD courses which can be undertaken by all eligible Indian Army officers during their study leave. It shall also facilitate joint seminars and conclaves for idea exchange on leadership and management, development of joint case studies from military experiences and academic expertise, collaborative research projects addressing mutual interests, customised lectures and training sessions through faculty exchange programmes and tailored Management Development Programmes (MDPs) for Army officers covering topics such as project management and strategic management.
This MoU marks a significant step towards professional development and innovative management practices within both organisations.
