The significance of yoga in promoting physical and mental well-being among military personnel, their families and society.

EASTERN COMMAND CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY AT FORT WILLIAM, KOLKATA, AND VARIOUS MILITARY STATIONS.

The Eastern Command marked International Yoga Day 2024 with a grand celebration at Fort William, Kolkata and numerous other military stations. This event highlighted the significance of yoga in 
promoting physical and mental well-being among military personnel, their families and society.
At Fort William, Kolkata, Mrs. Ashima Srikanth, the Regional Vice President of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), led a unique yoga session. 
Approximately 1,100 individuals, including all ranks and their families, participated enthusiastically. As the sun rose, the serene environment was filled with the collective energy and dedication of participants moving in unison 
through various 'Asanas'.Simultaneously, soldiers and their families gathered at multiple military 
stations under the Eastern Command to participate in mass yoga sessions. These sessions embodied the spirit of “Yoga For Self and Society”, 

reinforcing the commitment of the armed forces to holistic health and unity. The synchronized movements during the yoga sessions reflected deep mindfulness and a harmonious blend of thoughts and actions. This unity showcased yoga's profound impact on enhancing personal well-being and fostering community harmony.
The Eastern Command’s initiative to organize these extensive yoga sessions demonstrated their dedication to fostering a healthy and united community for the cause of fit India.This celebration of International Yoga Day stands as a 
testament to the strength and solidarity of our soldiers and their families, united in the pursuit of well-being.
