Commemoration of Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav at Leimakhong, Manipur

Indian Army organized a series of events at Leimakhong Military Station to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav. The day's activities began with a tree plantation drive, inaugurated by Major General SS Kartikeya, GOC, Red Shield Division and Mrs. Priya Kartikeya, Chairperson of the Red Shield Family Welfare Organisation who planted a sapling at Leimakhong Military Station, marking the launch of the drive. This initiative is part of a broader effort across the organization to promote environmental awareness and contribute positively to the ecosystem.
In addition to the tree plantation drive, a weapon and equipment display was organized in the station, featuring an array of weapons from both fighting and combat-support arms, providing insight into the Indian Army's military capabilities. The display aimed to raise awareness about the Indian Army's culture, ethos and combat capabilities. It offered families and children an opportunity to witness the measures adopted to ensure national security.

As part of the celebrations, a mesmerizing Army Band display was also organised for all ranks and families of the station. The talented musicians of the Army Band captivated the audience with their soulful renditions of patriotic tunes and the national anthem. The vibrant performance, showcasing the band's exceptional skill and coordination, was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
These events, held to honour the sacrifices and valour of our armed forces in Kargil War of 1999 served as an opportunity for the Army families to come together and celebrate the spirit of patriotism and instill a sense of pride in them.
