অরুণাচল প্রদেশের মিশমি উপজাতি ,যাদের বিশ্বাস শ্রীকৃষ্ণের স্ত্রী রুক্মিনী তাঁদের উপজাতির ছিলেন।

উত্তর পূর্ব ভারতের এরা নদী 4000 মিটার উচ্চতায় অরুণাচলপ্রদেশে উৎপন্ন হয়েছে। দিবাং উপত্যকা জেলার ইটালিন সার্কেলের সবুজ জীববৈচিত্র্য মিশমি পাহাড়ের মধ্য দিয়ে প্রবাহিত হয়ে অবশেষে ভারতের মারাহ রাজ্যে মিশেছে।  

ইটালিন গ্রাম হল একটি বিশ্রাম স্থল যেটি পর্বত আরোহীরা  দিবাং উপত্যকা দিয়ে আনিনি জেলা পর্যন্ত যাবার সময় এই রুটটি ব্যবহার করে ।

এমরা নদীর অববাহিকায় বসবাসকারী একটি প্রাচীন উপজাতি মিশমি জনগোষ্ঠী। এই উপজাতি একটি অনন্য সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্যকে লালন করে আসছে এই বিশ্বাসের সঙ্গে যে ভগবান কৃষ্ণের প্রধান সহধর্মিণী রুক্মিণী তাদের উপজাতি থেকে ছিলেন। ইতিহাসের সাথে পৌরাণিক কাহিনীর এই মিথস্ক্রিয়া মিশমি জনগণের স্বাতন্ত্র্যসূচক পরিচয়ের মূল ভিত্তি। এরা তাদের ঐতিহ্য এবং জমির সাথে সংযোগ রক্ষা করে চলেছে। 

এমরা নদী উপত্যকা দিবাং জেলায় মাহসির মাছের সর্বোচ্চ উৎপাদনের জন্য বিখ্যাত।  মাহসির মাছের (টোর পুটিতোরা) ডিম ও প্রজননের জন্য দিবাং থেকে এমরায় স্থানান্তরিত করা হয় এদের। অরুণাচল প্রদেশ রাজ্যের এই মাছ বিশ্বব্যাপী খ্যাত । এই মাছ বিশ্ব বাজারে উচ্চ মূল্যে বিক্রি হয়।

Emra River Valley boasts of highest production of Mahseer fish in district Dibang. Mahseer (Tor putitora), migrating from Dibang to Emra for spawning & breeding is Arunachal Pradesh's State Fish renowned for its global food value & commands high market prices.
