Indian Army Empowers Locals on National Small Industry Day.
In celebration of National Small Industry Day, Indian Army organized an interactive session at Leimakhong, focusing on small-scale industries for local residents. The event aimed to educate and motivate individuals to start their own businesses, promoting entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency.
The session, attended by 50 villagers, provided valuable insights into starting and managing small enterprises. Responding to local requests, the Army is establishing a Bead Jewellery unit at P Moulding village, where women will receive training from entrepreneurs affiliated with ASEEM Foundation, a Pune-based NGO.
As a precursor to establishment the unit, an Army Officer offered practical guidance on business planning, financing, and supply chain management to the locals. This hands-on approach ensured participants are well equipped with essential skills to succeed in the planned projects.
This initiative of establishing small scale businesses is part of the Indian Army's Operation Sadbhavna, which has launched six similar projects in Manipur, including establishing a bakery unit, cosmetic unit, bead jewellery making and a Yarn Bank, across Bishnupur, Yaingangpokpi and Leimakhong. These initiatives aim to provide business opportunities for youth and empower local women.
Through these efforts, the Indian Army demonstrates its commitment to community development and entrepreneurship, fostering a spirit of self-reliance and economic growth in the region.
