To increase the interest of the youth in the armed forces, an exhibition is organized by the Eastern Command in Kolkata.

Joining the Indian Army has always been a dream of many young Indians. It is considered a noble profession that offers not only a sense of pride and patriotism but also job security, financial stability, and a chance to serve the country. there has been a significant increase in the number of Indian youth wanting to join the Indian Army after completing their 12th standard.

With the theme of ‘India: Developed Nation by 2047', Indian Army has organized a weapon and equipment display for students and local populace of Kolkata  from 11th to 14th September 2024. This unique Exhibition is being organized for four days at Science City, Kolkata.

The event is being organized with an aim of creating awareness about Indian Defence Forces. It also gives the visitors a rare opportunity to witness how Indian Army operates a wide range of weapon and equipment which includes Small Arms, Artillery Guns, Air Defence Guns, Radar  and other specialist weapons.

The exhibition witnessed an overwhelming response with over 2000 students and civilians visiting the display today. Besides the weapon display, a stall showcasing the various options for youth to join armed forces generated a lot of attention and the youth were guided by Army and Air Force personnel present at the event.

The enthralled students seemed inspired and motivated to join the Indian Armed Forces in order to serve the nation.
