JOINT OPERATIONS BY INDIAN ARMY, ASSAM RIFLES AND SECURITY FORCES RESULTS IN RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION IN MANIPUR.

Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police and other security forces have been relentlessly carrying out intelligence based joint operations in both the hill and valley regions in Manipur. The close coordination and synergy amongst the various security forces have resulted in recovery of 26 weapons, ammunition and war like stores in the previous week.
In Bishnupur district, on 07 Oct 2024, acting on specific intelligence, the Indian Army, in coordination with the Manipur Police launched a joint operation in general area Gelbung and recovered one 9mm Carbine Machine, one AK-47 Rifle, one 12 Bore Single Barrel Rifle, one 12 Bore Pistol, 2.5 Kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED), ammunition, grenades and warlike stores. On the same day in a similar operation with Manipur Police and CRPF in the Kangvai Area of Churachandpur district, Indian Army recovered two country made mortar (Pompi), two country made pistols, grenades and warlike stores.
On 08 October 2024, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched another intelligence based joint operation in the Khelakhong area, in Imphal West targeting a suspected hideout. Extensive searches resulted in the recovery of one 7.62 mm SLR rifle, one .303 rifle, one 9 mm pistol, grenades and other warlike stores.
On 09 October 2024, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police in a joint operation in general Area Champai, Sagolmang, in Imphal East district, Manipur and recovered one M 16 rifle, two SLRs, one .22 rifle, one country made Sten gun, two carbines, eight 9 mm country made pistols, ammunition, grenades and warlike stores.

The successful recovery of these warlike stores highlights the seamless cooperation between the Indian Army, Assam Rifles and local law enforcement agencies, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring the security and safety of the region. With such operations, Indian Army remains committed in its continuous efforts to maintain peace and stability in the area.
