The historic Indian Air Force (IAF) and Uttarakhand War Memorial (UWM) car rally covering 7000 km, arrived in Bagdogra .

The historic Indian Air Force (IAF) and Uttarakhand War Memorial (UWM) car rally covering 7000 km, arrived in Bagdogra  on 20 Oct amidst a warm welcome by Air Warriors and children. This iconic IAF car rally was ceremonially flagged off by Hon'able Raksha Mantri , Shri  Rajnath Singh on 01 Oct at National War Memorial, New Delhi. 

The Mega rally officially started on 08 October from the Air Base in Thoise and is planned to culminate on 29 Oct at Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. This rally team will now be heading for Guwahati, which is also known as Gateway to the Northeast, on 22 Oct via Hasimara. The team is scheduled to reach Guwahati on 23 Oct before it's final journey towards Tawang. 
The rally on 14 Maruti Jimny 4×4 vehicles are being driven by Senior Air Warriors, Army Officers and Air veterans.The team was flagged off in the morning by Group Caption Raveesh Rakesh, Station Commander Darbhanga  and was given a grand welcome at Bagdogra by Air Cmde Manish V Patel VM, Air Officer Commanding Commanding, Air Force Station Bagdogra and its personnel. 
The rally is being led by Wing Commander Vijay Prakash Bhatt posted at Directorate of Adventure, Air Headquarters. The team also comprises senior Airforce and Army Officers, Air Warriors and Air veterans. 

 Fuelling  the spirit of “Vayu Veer Vijetha”, the rally from Thoise to Tawang aims to inspire youth during interactions enroute. As the nation is also celebrating this year as " 25th year of Kargil Vijay Diwas", the team members are also committed to visit war memorials enroute and pay tribute to the fallen bravehearts  during this unique journey.
