WEST BENGAL & SIKKIM NCC DIRECTORATEINTER GROUP COMPETITION CULMINATES AT KALYANI.
In pursuit of empowering our youth and inculcating in them the sense of discipline, character, camaraderie, resilience and ideals of
selfless service to the Nation, NCC Directorate West Bengal and Sikkim conducts a spectrum of training, programs, activities including outdoor camps throughout the year which progressively culminates with selected Army, Navy and Air Force cadets participating in the prestigious Republic Day Camp at Delhi. It is the dream of an NCC cadet to get selected for this National level
event.
Towards this end, the Inter Group competition for selection of the best amongst enrolled NCC cadets from the states of West Bengal & Sikkim was conducted in NCC Academy, Kalyani with effect from 26 Sep 24. 400 Cadets from
Kharagpur, Burdwan, Kalyani, Kolkata ‘B’, Kolkata ‘C’ and Darjeeling & Sikkim Groups participated in various Pre-Republic Day camp activities like Drill,
Theme based Flag Area, Idea – Innovation - Startup & Cultural programs. Individual Girl and Boy Cadets were also screened for Best Cadet award. Cadet Avishu of Barrackpore Rashtraguru Surendranath College and Cadet Debadrita
Saha of Army Public School Barrackpore were declared the Best Cadets and both cadets are from 48 Bengal Bn NCC, Barrackpore. Darjeeling and Sikkim Group was adjudged the Champion Group and was awarded the championship
trophy for the year 2024-25 by the DDG.
The selected cadets will now be trained by Best Instructors to represent the States of West Bengal & Sikkim at the National level Republic Day Camp – 2025 in Delhi. Brigadier Romeo Singh, Sena Medal, Deputy Director General, West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate exhorted all the cadets to keep up the tempo and excel at RDC 2025 while strengthening their resolve to contribute to Nation Building through selfless service.
