Civilian-Military Trek Concludes Successfully in Arunachal PradeshZemithang, Arunachal Pradesh.

A unique civilian-military trekking expedition, aimed at promoting border tourism under the Vibrant Village Programme, concluded successfully this week in the picturesque region of Zemithang.

Team Composition: A 16-member team, comprising experienced mountaineers from the Indian Mountaineering Federation (IMF) and Indian Army personnel.

 Trek Details: A challenging 40-kilometer trek through the Eastern Himalayas, spanning four days and covering altitudes ranging from 9,000 to 15,000 feet.

 Terrain: Dense forests, rugged terrains, and steep mountain slopes.

 

Key Objectives: Promote border tourism, foster camaraderie between civilians and military personnel, and showcase the breathtaking beauty of the region.

 

Army's Role: Army personnel provided essential guidance, ensured safety, and shared valuable survival techniques for high-altitude conditions.

 "It was a lifetime experience to explore the unexplored beauty of Arunachal Pradesh alongside Indian Army personnel. I would love to participate in future expeditions in this area," said Ritesh, a civilian trekker.

The successful completion of this expedition is expected to pave the way for more such civilian-military initiatives in Zemithang, fostering collaboration between the armed forces and civilians in the context of national defense and security.
