The Indian Army's Eastern Command, in
collaboration with Red FM, hosted a grand and unforgettable event, "Guts & Glory Salute 71", at the Fort William, Kolkata, to commemorate Vijay Diwas 2024. This extraordinary celebration was a tribute to the indomitable spirit, sacrifice and valour of the brave soldiers who fought during the 1971 War.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Mrs. Gauri Tiwari, Regional President of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), symbolizing hope, pride and unity. The occasion witnessed an esteemed gathering which included the War Veterans from tri-services alongwith large number of civil-military dignitaries joined by all ranks and their families in the
presence of Lieutenant General Ram Chander Tiwari,UYSM,AVSM,SM, GOCin-C, Eastern Command.
The evening was brought to life with electrifying performances by eminent artists such as Divya Kumar - a renowned Indian playback singer, Sourendro & Soumyojit - the dynamic pianist-vocalist duo, Miss Mangka Mayanglambam
-an iconic Manipuri folk singer and Sudeep Bhola- a renowned Hasya Kavi. In addition to these luminaries, the event showcased several talented in-house performers whose passionate acts embodied the spirit of unity and patriotism.
From soul-stirring melodies to humorous recitations, each performance encapsulated the essence of patriotism and the rich cultural heritage of India.
In a special moment of recognition, The Army Commander felicitated the performing artists, expressing heartfelt appreciation for their contribution to this remarkable tribute.
