The Indian Army hosted a grand Veteran Rally at Bengdubi Military Station.

Bengdubi, 14 January 2025: The Indian Army hosted a grand Veteran Rally at Bengdubi Military Station today, with Mr. Shantanu Thakur, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. Senior military officials, including Lieutenant General Zubin A Minwalla, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding, Trishakti Corps attended the event. The event saw the participation from approximately 2,000 veterans, along with Veer Naris and their families.

The rally brought together veterans from Malda, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Gangtok, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, and Katihar districts, providing a platform to honour their sacrifices and address their welfare needs.

In his address, Mr. Shantanu Thakur commended the Indian Army's initiatives for veteran welfare, emphasising the government's commitment to ensuring that veterans and their families receive the support and resources they deserve. Lt Gen Zubin A Minwalla highlighted the Army's enduring dedication to maintaining strong ties with its veterans and ensuring their well-being.

• Seamless Registration: Efficient registration and updating of personal records for veterans.

• Interactive Sessions: Thoughtful engagements with Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris to address their challenges and concerns.

• Welfare Guidance: Expert advice on welfare schemes, pension-related matters, and Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS).

• Skill Development: Informative sessions on skill development and employment opportunities by the Army Placement Node (APN).

• Recognition and Felicitation: Gallantry Award Winners and Veer Naris were honored for their sacrifices and contributions.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Thakur said, "It is a privilege to be among the brave veterans and their families who have given so much for the nation. The government, in collaboration with the Indian Army, remains committed to their welfare and ensuring they have access to all necessary support systems."

Lt Gen Minwalla added, "Our veterans are the nation's pride, and their well-being remains our utmost priority. This rally symbolises our gratitude and dedication to their welfare."
