An exhibition of handicrafts made by talented women was organized at the Army Skill Training Center (ASTC), Mamun.
A vibrant exhibition under theme “ Sapano Ki Udaan”,showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit of wives of Indian Army soldiers, was held at Novelty Mall, Pathankot, on Republic Day. This exhibition provided a platform for these talented women to take flight on their entrepreneurial journeys, showcasing a diverse range of handcrafted items created through the skills they honed at the Army Skill Training Centre (ASTC), Mamun. These exquisite creations included handmade jewelry, intricately designed candles, charming crochet products, eco-friendly block printed paper bags and cloths, and delectable homemade cakes and cookies.
One of the highlights of the exhibition was the participation of Mrs. Melody Zou, wife of a soldier from Manipur, who learned cake-making skills at ASTC, Mamun.
"This entrepreneurial exhibition, 'Sapano Ki Udaan,' has given me the confidence to pursue my passion for baking," said Mrs. Zou "The skills I acquired at ASTC have empowered me to turn my hobby into a successful venture and I feel confident today to sell my products when these are being purchased by many”.
The exhibition proved to be a resounding success, with a steady stream of visitors throughout the day. The unique and high-quality products, coupled with the entrepreneurial spirit of these women, captivated the attention of customers.
"The quality of the products is exceptional, and I am overwhelmed to know that such products have been made by wives of our soldiers," remarked Mrs./ Mr. [Name], a local resident who purchased a set of handmade jewelry/ cake/ block printed table runner.
