JOINT OPERATIONS BY SECURITY FORCES RESULT IN RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION.

In a series of operations, Indian Army and Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps launched intelligence-based operations in the hill and valley districts of namely Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Imphal East, Kakching, Jiribam, Kangpokpi and Imphal West between 06 – 12 Apr 25 in coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP, apprehended six cadres and recovered 77 weapons, grenades, ammunition and war like stores.
Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Karamanga in Jiribam district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a joint operation on 06 Apr 25 and recovered five weapons comprising three Double barrel Rifles, two Single barrel Rifles, ammunition and war like stores. 

On the same day intelligence inputs indicated presence of arms and ammunition in general area Paraubi, in Imphal East district. Indian Army and Manipur Police launched a joint operation resulting in recovery of one pistol. Similarly, in general area Wangoi in Imphal West district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a joint operation and recovered seven weapons comprising one Self Loading Rifle (SLR), one .32 mm Pistol, two 12 Bore Single Barrel Rifles, three .303 Rifles, grenades, ammunition and war like stores.
On 07 Apr 2025, intelligence inputs indicated presence of arms and ammunition in the general area Thangjing Hill (in the dense forested areas between Nalon and Loilamkot villages) in Churachandpur district, troops of Indian Army, CRPF and Manipur Police swiftly launched a joint operation and recovered four weapons comprising one AK 47, two .303 Rifles, one 12 Bore Single Barrel Rifle, ammunition and war like stores.

In Imphal East district, on receipt of intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Sungba, Indian Army and Manipur Police launched an intelligence-based operation on 07 Apr 25 and recovered seven weapons comprising one .303 Light Machine Gun (LMG), one SLR, two 12 Bore barrel Rifle, two Pistols and one Tear Gas Gun, ammunition and war like stores.

In a major intelligence-based operation in general area Boljang in Kangpokpi district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police recovered 14 weapons comprising one INSAS, one .22 Pistol, one Bolt Action Rifle, six improvised mortars, five Rifles ammunition and war like stores.
In Jiribam district, Assam Rifles launched an intelligence based joint operation in Tatbung Village along with Manipur Police and CRPF on 08 Apr 25and recovered three weapons comprising one Improvised Mortar (pompi), two country made Single Barrel Rifles, ammunition and war like stores.

On 09 Apr 25, intelligence inputs of presence of arms and ammunition was received in general area Tokpaching, in Kakching district. Indian Army, in coordination with the Assam Rifles, BSF, Manipur Commandos and Manipur Police, launched a joint operation and recovered eight weapons comprising, two Carbine Machine Gun, one .303 Rifle, two Double Barrel rifles, one Single Barrel rifle, one modified 7.62 mm Sniper Rifle, one modified 9mm Pistol, two Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs), ammunition and war like stores.
In a separate operation on 09 April 2025, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police recovered a large cache of weapons from general area Lamsang, Imphal West District. The operation resulted in recovery of nine weapons comprising, one 7.62mm Self Loading Rifle (SLR), one Modified Rifle, one Double Barrel Gun, two Single Bore Barrel Gun (SBBL), one Air Gun, two Pistols, one Modified Flare Gun, ammunition and war like stores.
In Churachandpur district, the Indian Army, CRPF and Manipur Police, jointly launched an intelligence-based operation on 10 Apr 25 and recovered four weapons comprising one .22 Rifle, one Single Barrel Rifle and two Pump Action Guns.
On the next day ie 11 Apr 25, in Bishnupur district, Indian Army, CRPF and Manipur Police launched a joint operation in the general area of Saiton Khunao, and recovered 12 weapons comprising one 5.56 mm INSAS rifle, one 12 bore double barrel gun, one modified .22 automatic rifle, seven 12 bore bolt action rifles, two .303 bolt action rifles, one IED, ammunition and war like stores.
On 12 April 25, an operation was launched based on specific inputs in General Area Siden in Churachandpur district by Indian Army leading to recovery of three country made mortars (pompis).
Joint operations by security forces have also resulted in apprehensions of cadres from various groups. The apprehended personnel and the recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police. These coordinated efforts by security forces highlight their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Manipur.
